How long will the "Ex-nA" not applicable name last?
The "Ex-nA" standard (IEC/EN 60079-15-2010) still has no expired provisions. This is why these two types of protection are parallel in the market. However, we expect the "Ex-nA" type of protection to be removed from the standard within the next two years.
Since when will it be mandatory to mark "Ex-ec" on new devices "?
After the expiry of IEC/EN 60079-15:2010, all new equipment put into circulation must be marked "Ex-ec". We expect the expiration date to be in about four years.
When will the "Ex-ec" name for our PD-PA-PI field devices appear?
The transition from "pre-nA" to "pre-ec" has begun. In the next few years, all equipment will be replaced. The changes will be visible in labels, documents, and affected certificates.
Can I operate "Ex nA" and "Ex ec" devices together?
The "Ex-ec" was explicitly introduced as an inheritance of the "Ex-nA" type protection and has been confirmed to be technically identical.
