1. Prerequisites and Kit Composition

The conversion target is the non-explosion-proof Prowirl 200 compact vortex flowmeter, which has two conversion procedures: standard version and version with integrated temperature and pressure compensation. The DK7003 conversion kit standard configuration includes: remote sensor junction box, wall mounting bracket, dedicated connection cable, and conversion nameplate; the stainless steel version additionally includes stainless steel cable and crimp sleeves.

The core logic is: only a small signal adapter box remains on the pipe side, the entire transmitter with the original display and processing board is removed and wall-mounted at a distance, and the two ends are connected by a dedicated cable to achieve remote transmission.

2. Pre-Conversion Safety Requirements

Before conversion, it must be ensured that the instrument is completely powered off, the pipeline is depressurized, cooled to a safe temperature, and the medium is thoroughly replaced. During operation, ESD electrostatic protection must be implemented, and only original accessories should be used. For trade settlement instruments, metrological verification becomes invalid after the lead seal is broken; after conversion, it must be recommissioned and the conversion process fully recorded; for those involving SIL safety loops, re-acceptance is required.

3. Complete Conversion Steps

1. Remove the Original Transmitter

  1. After powering off, open the meter head and remove the S-DTA memory chip.
  2. Disconnect the internal sensor, power supply, and communication lines.
  3. Use tools to remove the entire transmitter.

2. Install the Remote Junction Box

  1. Clean the base sealing surface and replace the seal.
  2. Fix the remote sensor junction box from the kit onto the original transmitter mounting base, and tighten the screws to ensure protection.
  3. Connect the probe temperature and pressure module cables.

3. Connect the Remote Cable

  1. Install the mounting bracket.
  2. Connect the two ends of the dedicated cable to the pipe-side junction box and the wall-mounted transmitter respectively.
  3. The standard cable is 4-core (brown/white/yellow/green); the cable with temperature and pressure compensation is 7-core, including RS485 communication, power supply, grounding, and reset lines. Connect strictly according to the terminal wire colors.
  4. There are two wiring outlet methods: M12 plug type and direct cable outlet type.

4. Restoration and Commissioning

  1. After securing the compact transmitter, open the transmitter housing and reinsert the S-DTA chip.
  2. Connect the remote cable and restore power and communication.
  3. Tighten the screws and seal the gland.
  4. Update the label and complete power-on commissioning.
