Field of application

The HAW568 surge arrester protects the electronic components inside field devices from damage. It limits overvoltage surges occurring on signal cables (e.g. 4...20 mA), fieldbus cables and power supply cables, or safely diverts the surges to ground. The zero-impedance connection of the protective device avoids interfering voltage drops and ensures that the electronic components function properly.

  • The surge arrester reduces residual currents occurring on upstream lightning protection devices and limits systematic overvoltage surges

  • The HAW568 surge arrester is mainly used on process automation instruments in the water and wastewater, chemical, oil and gas, and power and energy industries
