BlackStone positive displacement electromagnetic metering pump

Blackstone 18.3 L/h chemical dosing pump

Product Overview

  • The BL1.5 BlackStone pump is designed to meet ever-changing industrial needs. With its wide, flat base and mounting holes for tank, shelf or floor mounting (horizontal), the pump can be easily installed anywhere in the plant. Mounting holes are also provided at the rear of the pump housing for easy vertical mounting: wall, tank or machine. Since the pump valve assembly and unit controls are located at the front of the pump, installation or flow adjustment is never a problem.

  • BlackStone's positive displacement solenoid-driven pumps use a minimum number of moving parts, reducing the chance of mechanical failure. The parts wear and lubrication associated with motor-driven pumps (ball bearings, gear drives and cams) are not relevant to these pumps. Blackstone pumps are more accurate than standard pumps because the positive displacement design ensures that each stroke is identical to the preceding and following strokes, maintaining a consistent flow rate. The BlackStone series pumps are available in different dosing capacities to meet your specific dosing needs. Each pump is supplied with a drip tray

  • Simple operation

  • BlackStone pumps are equipped with a single control for pump output. The external flow control (potentiometer) on the pump surface allows you to adjust

  • the flow percentage from 0 to 100% of the pump's rated capacity. This feature eliminates the need to worry about stroke length and power settings. An LED indicator lights up at the start of each stroke, allowing the user to assess the stroke rate from a distance.

  • Premium materials

  • BlackStone pumps are manufactured with the highest level of mechanical precision, and the selected materials have an inherent ability to resist the effects of corrosive chemicals. When you choose a Blackstone pump, you eliminate the time-consuming work of selecting the right materials for your application.

  • Blackstone pumps use the highest quality materials as standard equipment, not as optional equipment. The diaphragm features a one-piece PTFE construction that, unlike conventional laminated diaphragms, withstands the test of time and wear. The ball valves are made of glass. The pump head and O-rings are made of PVDF, PTFE and FPM/FKM for unparalleled resistance. The chemical resistance chart (right) shows how PVDF and PTFE perform against some of the most aggressive chemicals.

  • Rugged and durable design

  • Blackstone pumps are completely sealed during assembly and provide IP65 protection against splashes and spills, offering excellent protection even in harsh environments. The fibre-reinforced polypropylene housing resists corrosive chemicals while providing superior strength under harsh industrial conditions

Municipal Wastewater Treatment

Municipal Wastewater Treatment · Hanna — Stock Configuration Case

Project Overview

The site is the inlet, biological and outlet stages of a municipal plant. The customer wanted Hanna properly configured on the existing plant, with the aim of covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

Technical Challenges

What actually causes trouble is high solids and corrosive fractions, with large diurnal flow swings, and effluent parameters drift and probes foul with sludge and biofilm. All of this means the Hanna configuration has to involve selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

Configuration

Supply and installation were organised through the stock channel: configuring from stock and delivered quickly. On site this meant selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, checked line by line against: stable compliance with Grade 1A discharge limits and online data reporting.

Performance

After commissioning the outcome is results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, and the readings are now used for process tuning.

Food & Beverage

Food & Beverage · Hanna — Stock Configuration Case

Site Conditions

This is a Food & Beverage customer whose plant is at dosing, pasteurising, filling and CIP stages. The main task was covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

The Problem

The difficulty lies in syrups, dairy and beverages that scale easily, under strict hygienic requirements; at the same time frequent cleaning demands instruments that withstand hot CIP/SIP caustic cycles. Specification therefore means selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

What We Did

We took a stock channel approach — configuring from stock and delivered quickly. Delivery was built around selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, with point-by-point checks on: food-safety and hygienic design per 3-A / EHEDG.

Operating Outcome

In service the system performs as intended — results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, with routine maintenance falling noticeably.

Chemical & Pharmaceutical

Application Context

reactors, metering vessels and finished-product tanks is a typical Chemical & Pharmaceutical duty. The project started from Hanna, focusing on covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

Process Constraints

corrosion plus Ex protection shortens instrument life and makes downtime costly, and highly corrosive media with solvents and crystallisation, partly in explosive atmospheres only amplify it. The Hanna specification must therefore cover selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

Delivery Approach

Delivery was handled as the stock channel — configuring from stock and delivered quickly. Execution centred on selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, together with Ex certification and GMP traceability of records.

Field Results

Operation shows the benefit clearly — results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, with confidence in this measuring point improving markedly.

Power & Energy

Power & Energy · Hanna — Stock Configuration Case

Customer Profile

The typical setting in Power & Energy is boiler feedwater, turbine condensate and FGD/DeNOx systems. The measuring point is Hanna; the focus is covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

Key Difficulties

Conditions are high temperature and pressure with both steam and saline water and, on top of that, drift under high temperature and pressure, with very costly unplanned outages, which a standard configuration cannot handle for long. The design therefore starts with selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

Implementation

The scope ran through the stock channel: configuring from stock and delivered quickly. Technically it hinges on selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, and on these requirements: compliance with power-industry codes and unit availability targets.

Customer Benefit

In practice this means results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, which cut the workload on the site maintenance team.
