  • HI839800 COD Test Tube Heater has two predefined temperature profiles: 150ºC and 105ºC. Digestion for chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total phosphorus is carried out at 150℃, while digestion for total nitrogen is carried out at 105℃. The test tube heater automatically heats to the set temperature and maintains it until the countdown timer ends. When the timer ends, a beep will sound and the heating element will turn off. Even during timed digestion, the housing of the HI839800 remains cool to the touch. The optional laboratory safety shield and test tube cooling rack provide a complete setup for sample digestion.

  • Features at a glance

  • Predefined temperature settings - The test tube heater has two predefined temperature profiles, 150ºC (221ºF) and 105ºC (301ºF), selectable with just the push of a button.

  • Temperature alarms - If the temperature of the heating block is above or below the set temperature, the HI839800 will alert the user. The timer icon reminds the user to wait for the heating block to cool down or warm up before inserting samples.

  • Built-in timer - With a built-in countdown timer of up to 180 minutes, users can easily set the desired digestion time by simply pressing the up and down arrows. Once the time is set and the heating element is stable, press the START button to begin the digestion program.

  • Status indicators - There are three LED lights on the HI839800. The green LED indicates the heater is on; the yellow LED indicates when the heater is actively heating to the set temperature; when the heater temperature exceeds 50ºC, the red LED indicator alerts the user that the aluminum element is hot.

  • Overheat protection - The HI839800 includes a thermal fuse to prevent overheating. If overheating occurs, the heater will automatically shut off and all LED indicators will turn off.

  • Reference temperature well - In addition to the aluminum heating block with a capacity of 25 vials, a small well for a temperature probe is also provided for users who wish to verify their heating block.

  • Two operating modes - The HI839800 has two operating modes: idle and heating. Idle mode is the default mode in which the heater measures and displays the current temperature, target temperature, set reaction time, and the “idle” label. Heating mode is activated when the user presses the START button; it begins when actively heating and continues during the countdown timer.

  • Continuous LCD display - Even when no active temperature program is running, the block temperature is continuously displayed on the easy-to-read LCD display. In both idle and heating modes, all relevant information is easily visible in addition to the temperature.

  • Error messages - Messages on the display alert to problems, including high or low temperature, hot surface, or heating system failure.

Municipal Wastewater Treatment

Municipal Wastewater Treatment · Hanna — Stock Configuration Case

Project Overview

The site is the inlet, biological and outlet stages of a municipal plant. The customer wanted Hanna properly configured on the existing plant, with the aim of covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

Technical Challenges

What actually causes trouble is high solids and corrosive fractions, with large diurnal flow swings, and effluent parameters drift and probes foul with sludge and biofilm. All of this means the Hanna configuration has to involve selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

Configuration

Supply and installation were organised through the stock channel: configuring from stock and delivered quickly. On site this meant selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, checked line by line against: stable compliance with Grade 1A discharge limits and online data reporting.

Performance

After commissioning the outcome is results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, and the readings are now used for process tuning.

Food & Beverage

Food & Beverage · Hanna — Stock Configuration Case

Site Conditions

This is a Food & Beverage customer whose plant is at dosing, pasteurising, filling and CIP stages. The main task was covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

The Problem

The difficulty lies in syrups, dairy and beverages that scale easily, under strict hygienic requirements; at the same time frequent cleaning demands instruments that withstand hot CIP/SIP caustic cycles. Specification therefore means selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

What We Did

We took a stock channel approach — configuring from stock and delivered quickly. Delivery was built around selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, with point-by-point checks on: food-safety and hygienic design per 3-A / EHEDG.

Operating Outcome

In service the system performs as intended — results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, with routine maintenance falling noticeably.

Chemical & Pharmaceutical

Application Context

reactors, metering vessels and finished-product tanks is a typical Chemical & Pharmaceutical duty. The project started from Hanna, focusing on covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

Process Constraints

corrosion plus Ex protection shortens instrument life and makes downtime costly, and highly corrosive media with solvents and crystallisation, partly in explosive atmospheres only amplify it. The Hanna specification must therefore cover selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

Delivery Approach

Delivery was handled as the stock channel — configuring from stock and delivered quickly. Execution centred on selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, together with Ex certification and GMP traceability of records.

Field Results

Operation shows the benefit clearly — results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, with confidence in this measuring point improving markedly.

Power & Energy

Power & Energy · Hanna — Stock Configuration Case

Customer Profile

The typical setting in Power & Energy is boiler feedwater, turbine condensate and FGD/DeNOx systems. The measuring point is Hanna; the focus is covering portable and laboratory water testing with Hanna instruments.

Key Difficulties

Conditions are high temperature and pressure with both steam and saline water and, on top of that, drift under high temperature and pressure, with very costly unplanned outages, which a standard configuration cannot handle for long. The design therefore starts with selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability.

Implementation

The scope ran through the stock channel: configuring from stock and delivered quickly. Technically it hinges on selected by parameter set, accuracy and field portability, and on these requirements: compliance with power-industry codes and unit availability targets.

Customer Benefit

In practice this means results available on site, reducing lab re-checks, which cut the workload on the site maintenance team.
