SEKO mechanical diaphragm pump

SEKO KOSMO
Configurable Models 20 models
The KOSMO series is a newly developed mechanically reset diaphragm metering pump from SEKO. This full-stroke-adjustable mechanically reset diaphragm metering pump maintains excellent operating performance under a wide range of fluids and pressures. The Kosmo MM1 has a very wide range of applications, with a flow rate of up to 530 L/h, pressure max. 12 bar and medium temperature max. 40°C. The Kosmo MM2 offers the same outstanding specifications as the MM1 series, with a cast aluminum housing and a choice of pump head materials; the diaphragm is PTFE and the seals are FPM/EPDM. The flow rate reaches 2300 L/h, pressure up to 10 bar and medium temperature max. 40°C.

KOSMO Series

  • MM1

  • Mechanical reset diaphragm metering pump

  • Flow range: 3-530 liters/hour, maximum pressure 12bar
  • liquid contact end: PVDF, PVC, SS316L (pump head),PTFE (diaphragm), EPDM or FPM (sealing ring) and ceramic and stainless steel (valve ball)
  • MM1 series and MM2 series have very similar features and functions, but the flow is slightly smaller, the maximum flow rate is 530 liters/hour, the maximum pressure is 12bar, slightly higher than the MM2 series.
  • Kosmo series was developed with great attention to durability, chemical compatibility and stability. It adopts a variable eccentric structure and the PTFE diaphragm is directly connected to the mechanical moving part, making it possible to flexibly use the power of the motor during the suction and discharge phases, so it can even be applied under high suction head conditions.
  • The mechanical parts are lubricated by oil bath, and the main moving parts are connected by bearings to avoid overheating as much as possible, reduce noise, and extend the life of the pump

Municipal Wastewater Treatment

Municipal Wastewater Treatment · KOSMO — Application Case

Project Background

The project covers the inlet, biological and outlet stages of a municipal plant. The work centres on KOSMO and the core task is mechanically driven diaphragm dosing with the KOSMO range.

Operating Challenges

The medium and duty are characterised by high solids and corrosive fractions, with large diurnal flow swings, and effluent parameters drift and probes foul with sludge and biofilm. So KOSMO cannot be specified generically — it calls for sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting.

Solution

The Ainstru engineering team worked through the mechanical diaphragm series: selecting for mechanically driven continuous dosing. The configuration involves sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting, with these requirements in view: stable compliance with Grade 1A discharge limits and online data reporting.

Results

Since start-up the system has run steadily; the practical result is smooth and quiet running, suited to indoor plant rooms.

Food & Beverage

Food & Beverage · KOSMO — Application Case

Project Overview

The site is dosing, pasteurising, filling and CIP stages. The customer wanted KOSMO properly configured on the existing plant, with the aim of mechanically driven diaphragm dosing with the KOSMO range.

Technical Challenges

What actually causes trouble is syrups, dairy and beverages that scale easily, under strict hygienic requirements, and frequent cleaning demands instruments that withstand hot CIP/SIP caustic cycles. All of this means the KOSMO configuration has to involve sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting.

Configuration

Supply and installation were organised through the mechanical diaphragm series: selecting for mechanically driven continuous dosing. On site this meant sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting, checked line by line against: food-safety and hygienic design per 3-A / EHEDG.

Performance

After commissioning the outcome is smooth and quiet running, suited to indoor plant rooms, and the readings are now used for process tuning.

Chemical & Pharmaceutical

Chemical & Pharmaceutical · KOSMO — Application Case

Site Conditions

This is a Chemical & Pharmaceutical customer whose plant is at reactors, metering vessels and finished-product tanks. The main task was mechanically driven diaphragm dosing with the KOSMO range.

The Problem

The difficulty lies in highly corrosive media with solvents and crystallisation, partly in explosive atmospheres; at the same time corrosion plus Ex protection shortens instrument life and makes downtime costly. Specification therefore means sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting.

What We Did

We took a mechanical diaphragm series approach — selecting for mechanically driven continuous dosing. Delivery was built around sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting, with point-by-point checks on: Ex certification and GMP traceability of records.

Operating Outcome

In service the system performs as intended — smooth and quiet running, suited to indoor plant rooms, with routine maintenance falling noticeably.

Power & Energy

Power & Energy · KOSMO — Application Case

Application Context

boiler feedwater, turbine condensate and FGD/DeNOx systems is a typical Power & Energy duty. The project started from KOSMO, focusing on mechanically driven diaphragm dosing with the KOSMO range.

Process Constraints

drift under high temperature and pressure, with very costly unplanned outages, and high temperature and pressure with both steam and saline water only amplify it. The KOSMO specification must therefore cover sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting.

Delivery Approach

Delivery was handled as the mechanical diaphragm series — selecting for mechanically driven continuous dosing. Execution centred on sized by dosing rate, back pressure and mounting, together with compliance with power-industry codes and unit availability targets.

Field Results

Operation shows the benefit clearly — smooth and quiet running, suited to indoor plant rooms, with confidence in this measuring point improving markedly.
