The QWX43 fermentation parameter monitor is mounted directly on the tank. It directly measures density, temperature and speed of sound and calculates all fermentation parameters, such as the degree of fermentation, residual extract and alcohol concentration. The multi-sensor system outputs high-precision, repeatable measurement results in real time. Install the Endress+Hauser Netilion app and monitor the fermentation process from any networked device.
Advantages
No on-site operation required
-
Precise, repeatable measurement results that replace manual sampling and laboratory analysis
-
Key process parameters are refreshed every minute, with measurement results available anytime, anywhere
-
Automatic notifications by comparing values of historical batches, optimizing and improving the process flow based on data
-
Automatic creation, saving and downloading of batches and values
-
Hygienic design, complete tank cleaning
Field of application
The QWX43 fermentation parameter monitor is a valuable assistant for brewers. It continuously measures and displays all important parameters of the beer fermentation process. The multi-sensor system outputs high-precision measured values, which the user can access anytime, anywhere after installing the app. It helps brewers fully understand the fermentation process and reduce follow-up work.

Municipal Wastewater Treatment · multiparameter — Application Case
Application Context
the inlet, biological and outlet stages of a municipal plant is a typical Municipal Wastewater Treatment duty. The project started from multiparameter, focusing on monitoring several water parameters at one measuring point.
Process Constraints
effluent parameters drift and probes foul with sludge and biofilm, and high solids and corrosive fractions, with large diurnal flow swings only amplify it. The multiparameter specification must therefore cover configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs.
Delivery Approach
Delivery was handled as the analyser range — selecting as part of a complete water-analysis system. Execution centred on configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs, together with stable compliance with Grade 1A discharge limits and online data reporting.
Field Results
Operation shows the benefit clearly — one point replacing several single-parameter units, saving capex and upkeep, with confidence in this measuring point improving markedly.
Food & Beverage · multiparameter — Application Case
Customer Profile
The typical setting in Food & Beverage is dosing, pasteurising, filling and CIP stages. The measuring point is multiparameter; the focus is monitoring several water parameters at one measuring point.
Key Difficulties
Conditions are syrups, dairy and beverages that scale easily, under strict hygienic requirements and, on top of that, frequent cleaning demands instruments that withstand hot CIP/SIP caustic cycles, which a standard configuration cannot handle for long. The design therefore starts with configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs.
Implementation
The scope ran through the analyser range: selecting as part of a complete water-analysis system. Technically it hinges on configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs, and on these requirements: food-safety and hygienic design per 3-A / EHEDG.
Customer Benefit
In practice this means one point replacing several single-parameter units, saving capex and upkeep, which cut the workload on the site maintenance team.
Chemical & Pharmaceutical · multiparameter — Application Case
Project Background
The project covers reactors, metering vessels and finished-product tanks. The work centres on multiparameter and the core task is monitoring several water parameters at one measuring point.
Operating Challenges
The medium and duty are characterised by highly corrosive media with solvents and crystallisation, partly in explosive atmospheres, and corrosion plus Ex protection shortens instrument life and makes downtime costly. So multiparameter cannot be specified generically — it calls for configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs.
Solution
The Ainstru engineering team worked through the analyser range: selecting as part of a complete water-analysis system. The configuration involves configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs, with these requirements in view: Ex certification and GMP traceability of records.
Results
Since start-up the system has run steadily; the practical result is one point replacing several single-parameter units, saving capex and upkeep.
Power & Energy · multiparameter — Application Case
Project Overview
The site is boiler feedwater, turbine condensate and FGD/DeNOx systems. The customer wanted multiparameter properly configured on the existing plant, with the aim of monitoring several water parameters at one measuring point.
Technical Challenges
What actually causes trouble is high temperature and pressure with both steam and saline water, and drift under high temperature and pressure, with very costly unplanned outages. All of this means the multiparameter configuration has to involve configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs.
Configuration
Supply and installation were organised through the analyser range: selecting as part of a complete water-analysis system. On site this meant configured by parameter set, mounting and cleaning needs, checked line by line against: compliance with power-industry codes and unit availability targets.
Performance
After commissioning the outcome is one point replacing several single-parameter units, saving capex and upkeep, and the readings are now used for process tuning.
